been revisiting this Mutilomaquia album lately, definitely one of my favs of the last few years.
it was one of the last releases on Dream Catalogue before that whole thing seemed to implode, and an absolute gem. looks like they’ve upped everything on their Bandcamp to £1000 purchase price and only have vinyl releases on their website now, but it’s on streaming. a brutally sad record but all the better for it:
there’s a new Yamaneko album out on 1000 Doors which is also great, we’ve released a ton of his stuff in the past. he lives in Tokyo now and I feel like you can really tell it on this one:
there’s also a new Octopath Traveller game out. I’ve not played it (the first one was a throwback JRPG comfort blanket that really got me through Covid in Winter 2021) but Yasunori Nishiki’s OSTs are the real star of the show.
Square Enix keep zapping YouTube uploads of the new one while they hawk CDs - I guess they’ll put it on streaming eventually, but in the meantime the OG OST is a real gem:
